One of the goals of WAVES is to encourage an informed and engaged electorate.  

Please consider not only voting, but also signing a nominating petition and supporting candidates of your choice.  Citizens who become involved and knowledgeable early in the process are a wonderful resource for neighbors who also are interested in exercising their citizenship rights.

Facts to know

  • Upper St. Clair has nine (9) school directors, who serve on rotating terms. The primary election will feature five (5) openings for school director.
  • In Upper St. Clair, as in some other communities, results of the general election often are determined in the primary election process.
    • If the same five individuals win the primaries of both parties, all five will be on the general election ballot for both parties.
  • In Pennsylvania, school board candidates may “cross register” and appear on both Democratic and Republican ballots.
  • The general election will be on Tuesday, November 6th 2007.
